Brenda Faye Hawkins charges have been dropped because the alleged crime did not happen in Lauderdale County.
Connolly said, "We looked at it and determined that our county didn't have jurisdiction on the allegations of doctor shopping."
Connolly says there was not a misstep in the investigation.
"In this situation, there was an investigation, there's still an investigation. Its my understanding our drug task force got information a data base that lead them to believe they had probable cause to charge her," said Connolly.
